Shortly before Thanksgiving, the people of RiteWay began a competition. They were separated into 8 teams and given the challenge to see which team could bring in the most donations for the McLeod County Emergency Food Shelf by noon on December 21st.
Donations of food or cash were accepted with each $1 donated count as 1 pound of food. The two teams who worked together to bring in the most donations would be allowed to leave two hours early, with pay, on December 29th.
The goal was to raise the equivalent of 2,520 pounds of food – the amount they raised last year. They didn’t reach that goal. They topped it!
Everyone really banded together and donated 2,423 pounds of food as well as $460 in cash – the equivalent of 2,883 pounds of food!
While the two winning teams were Sam’s Singing Snowmen with the equivalent of 1,070 pounds of food donated and Hermey’s Hygienists with the equivalent of 440 of donated, every person at RiteWay was extremely generous. Every team had donations with over 100 pounds!
The employees at RiteWay Conveyors, Inc. recently surprised the President and CEO, Denise Johnson. It was five years ago, on October 8th, 2012, that Denise Johnson took ownership of RiteWay Conveyors, Inc. The staff surprised her with a gift of a miniature slider bed with the 2017 company picture on it.
Thank you to our customers and employees for being a vital part of RiteWay Conveyors for the past five years!
On May 10th RiteWay held it’s annual company meeting which was again followed by a tour of a FedEx facility. This year we toured the automated facility in Rogers, MN. It was very interesting to see how the conveyors are put to work. Everyone learned a lot and had a great time. The tour was followed up by a company dinner at the Pizza Ranch in Elk River.
